Performing to standing-room-only audience at the pre-Gala Concert. Special thanks to Dr. Cathy Clayton from the University of Utah for hosting us and alumnae harpists from UA!
Flutefinity has released, for a limited time, some of its holiday music on the Facebook Page. We always have fun recording these and have new pieces each year arranged by members of the ensemble.
Flutefinity just recorded the premiere recording of András Derecskei’s Prelude No. 2 for piccolos and harp. This evocative work is full of interesting colors and subtlety and we had a great time recording it! Read More...
Dr. Luce is offering the training he gives to all his Flutefinity performers to all students in the Fred Fox School of Music! This class isn’t a technology class, it is the “how to” record class. Questions will be asked, answered, and this hand’s-on class will provide experience in:
What tempos work for a given piece of music?
What is rubato and tenuto, anyway?
How do I ensure that the recording reflects my personal musical style and intentions?
How do I get the best performance from collaborators?
What type of recording method is appropriate for a given genre?
Contact Dr. Luce, directly, if you are interested in learning how to create musical product!
Flutefinity, the UA Fred Fox School of Music flute ensemble, will be performing at the National Flute Association Convention in San Diego, California on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
